Change your Life

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

Your job? Your family life? How you interact with your friends and neighbors?

Learning WILL change your life, and the Springs Learning Center will help.

The Springs Learning Center is a non-profit, non-denominational educational outreach ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. The Center offers English as a Second Language to Adult Learners in the Greater New Haven area of Connecticut, assisting learners in building career skills and earning American citizenship.

To register for Adult Learning classes, please call the Springs Learning Center at (203) 787-1025 (O) or at (203) 780-1412 (M). We will help you schedule a time to take the placement test and register as a new learner.

Placement tests are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Tne Great Give is Coming May 7-8

Your Great Give Donation Helps with the BASICS

At the Springs Learning Center, we don’t need big equipment or a fancy audio visual set up. We’re teaching a basic survival skill for our new neighbors – the English language. And we need help buying educational basics – books and binders.

Your gift of $20 will give 5 learners new binders.

A donation of $125 will give a learner the books they need to progress through an academic year.

Whatever you can give, you will be helping your new neighbors create a new life in their new home, and help to build a better stronger community in New Haven.

Become a Tutor

If you want to become a volunteer tutor, please call the Center at (203) 787-1025 (O) or at (203) 780-1412 (M), or send us an email at  springslearning@oppeace.org. We will help you schedule an information session with the director.

If you are interested in volunteering in a capacity other than tutoring, please call the Center at (203) 787-1025 (O) or at (203) 780-1412 (M), or send us an email at  springslearning@oppeace.org to discuss possibilities. Administrative help and assistance with special projects are welcome on a regular or one-time basis.
